These personal difficulties can further hinder his ability to maintain stable housing. Veterans like Arty may also deal with issues related to military service, such as addiction. Many veterans turn to substances like drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism to manage the pressures of transitioning to civilian life. This exacerbates the difficulties Arty faces, contributing to his current situation.
